Hi, I’m Neel, a recent (2020) graduate of the Design Engineering MEng at Imperial College London.
Design Engineering is a new degree that combines creative and technical disciplines within a culture of innovation and enterprise.
I have skills in fundamental engineering and design which I have synthesised in a broad range of projects to make products, services, and experiences. In 2019, I undertook a 6 month internship within Floorcare New Product Development at Dyson.
During my time at Imperial, I have undertaken a wealth of extra-curricular opportunities from work shadowing at Cisco, demoing research in 3D audio at the V&A, to working with my cohort in roles as a wellbeing and social representative. I have also collaborated with academic staff to shape the Design Engineering curriculum.
As part of my broader interest in the powerful applications of design thinking with engineering knowledge, I have passions for music / sound technology and sustainable design. Music is a big part of my life: I have worked with Dr Lorenzo Picinali on the acoustics of our department building, play, write and record for guitar and piano, and have taken three co-curricular courses on music and sound technology at Imperial. I was also Chair (2018-19) and Treasurer (2019-20) of Imperial College’s Alternative Music Society
Above all, I love making things, physical, digital or otherwise. And I have no intention of letting my creative energy rest anytime soon.
